DRONES
Drones (ISSN 2504-446X) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal published monthly online by MDPI. The journal focuses on the design and applications of drones, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UASs), and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPASs), etc. Likewise, contributions based on unmanned marine/water/underwater drones, unmanned ground vehicles, fully autonomous driving, and space drones are also welcome. The journal is indexed by leading services, including Scopus, SCIE (Web of Science), Ei Compendex, and other major databases. The journal currently holds a 2025 Journal Impact Factor of 5.2 and a CiteScore of 10.0, reflecting its strong visibility and impact within the field.

HERON
The project HERON is funded under the European Union’s Horizon Europe Widening Program (Teaming for Excellence). It aims to create the first Robotics Center of Excellence (CoE) in Greece for advancing the science and technology of robotics in the AI era, coupled with industrial innovation.
The new CoE, named HERON (for Hellenic Robotics Center), will be a team effort between the Athena Research Center (coordinating partner), an excellent team of Greek University Professors, the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
